Enjoying the Bliss of Puncak Bintang

Monday’s sucks and we all know about it. An escape from reality is all we need at least once in a while, especially to clear up your jaded mind. I’m feeling blessed I’ve lived in Bandung where everything nearby. Taking myself on a mini-retreat, escaping reality for an hour or two is quite easy since she has a lot of hidden gems, waiting to be found.

I woke up quite early for a weekend, around 7 in the morning, and I’ve no idea what to do for the rest of the day. I had a little chat with one of my friend, Lucya, and all of a sudden we’ve come to conclusion that should we take a little break, escaping our reality for a while, going back to nature. It was too late for us to take a perfect shot since it’s already 10 in the morning but hey, it’s better than laying on the bed and do nothing till Monday come.

Escaping reality

Puncak Bintang is one of the renowned natural attraction which is relatively new (opened for public in 2014). The roads to get there is terrible but the view from the top is simply incredible. Rise up to 1400 meters above sea level makes it the highest peak in the City of Flower, Bandung. Some of you guys could be familiar with the beauty of the Bukit Moko and Puncak Bintang is not far away from it, you could simply reach there by foot.

The sun had been up for a while since we arrived at 11 am, but the air was still fresh and clean smelling. The milieu inside the pine forest is simply magical. Thank God although the sky was already cloudy, there’s no rain at all. Puncak Bintang is not only perfect to freshen up your mind but also has a lot of good spots to take a shot or two for your newest instagram feed.

A perfect way to end your weekend

Puncak Bintang can be reached from Jl. Cikutra or Jl. Padasuka (preferable). While Puncak Bintang is a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset and enjoying the view of the citylights, going there in the evening is not recommended since Bandung is usually hit by rain in that period of time. The roads are pretty narrow and uphill to Puncak Bintang so make sure your vehicle is in good condition. We almost had an accident, twice! (sorry, Lucya). Narrow yet bumpy roads plus aquaplaning is truly your tires’ arch enemies so safety first, guys!

We all need an escape from reality once in awhile, and Puncak Bintang is surely be my favourite place in this city to freshen up my mind. Enjoy the bliss of Puncak Bintang and be ready to start your new day!

special thanks to: Lucya
